Inspiration

In relation to the theme of Hackathon 2K21 – lockdown – the aim of our app is to provide support to under-privileged people. While lockdown has caused countless issues for everyone, it has completely devastated the lives of people who barely make ends meet, and our app helps them in various ways.

What it does

Our app motivates people to help the underprivileged during this difficult time. We aim to do this by donating them main basic necessities, which are food, clothes and money Our app enables the user to add tasks, update (or edit) them and delete them.

How we built it

We used various python and html modules to build our app

Challenges we ran into

With only 24 hours on the clock, it was extremely difficult; not just coming up with such a big idea, but also implementing it into an app with barely any sufficient skills. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, we were not able to meet up and work together physically at the same place or on the same device. We also faced a lot of difficulties and came across many bugs and errors. It was indeed a challenge to fix these errors.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We feel proud that we built an app that can be used as part of social service to help people in such challenging times

What we learned

Efficient usage of time: With a large amount of work to do in a small amount of time, we realized that we would have to work efficiently and make, if not full, maximum usage of the time provided. Teamwork in various situations: We learned to coordinate and work together against constraints such as lack of time and virtual presence (we were not able to meet and work together physically at the same place) Relating to the concept of our app, we learned to understand the importance and the value of the things that we already have and learned that we are fortunate that we have the basic necessities of life. We must always strive to help the society; only then can we truly prosper and help make the world a better place.

What's next for Liv-in Humanity

24 hours was not sufficient to build these remaining features; but these remain as potential areas of development. Our app can be further designed to donate books, masks, blankets, etc. Our app can also be designed to provide more services to people such as teleconsultation. This is a feature which provides medical information about how to stay safe and stay healthy
Our app can also be designed to allow people to share information about global news (such as COVID-19 updates) and basic techniques that everyone can embed into their lives.
