Inspiration
We were inspired to work on this topic because we felt that it was a very relevant topic to the quickly changing modern society, adults and teens alike. We were spurred on by the workshop about AI Technology and PTSD patients, as we realized how much of a difference technology can cause in one's mental health.
What it does
This app improves the user’s health, or at least their temporary mood. It offers options of what the user can do to improve their mood.
How we built it
We built the program on using JavaScript on the website code.org. We divided up tasks and then merged everyone's sub-products together.
Challenges we ran into
The three members of our group weren't equally familiar with the same language. This meant that members had to rely on one another to fill in the gaps of knowledge. Additionally, a lot of the coding was a bit tedious and all of it was intricate. Therefore, it was difficult to keep track of all the little details. The third challenge we faced was the issue of sleeping and tiredness. Since this is a competition with a time limitation, we had to force ourselves stay awake and still be alert.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We are proud that we were able to successfully finish the project in time without compromising many of initial ideas.
What we learned
We learned that it doesn't take crazy coding skills or advanced software to complete a finished program. We also learned that we shouldn't just disqualify ourselves because of initial challenges.
What's next for liv
We would like to add an AI interface to this program so that the user can hold a conversation with the system and the system can give more specific advice. We would also like to incorporate external links into liv so that the user can easily access a broader scope of information.
