Inspiration
Traditional internships are highly competitive, and many aspiring developers struggle to transition from theoretical learning to industry-ready practice without continuous, accessible guidance. We built LiUANtx to democratize career skill-building by creating a digital internship platform that scales professional growth through advanced AI mentoring.
What it does
LiUANtx is an AI-assisted digital internship platform designed for career skill-building. It acts as a 24/7 technical mentor for students and interns. The platform features an AI-powered code and task evaluation engine that analyzes submissions against real-world industry benchmarks, providing immediate feedback. Additionally, it integrates an AI doubt-clearing ecosystem to answer technical questions instantly, helping learners unblock themselves without waiting for human intervention.
How we built it
The platform is built on a modern, robust full-stack architecture:
- Frontend: Built with React and TypeScript to deliver a highly responsive, intuitive workspace interface.
- Backend & Analytics: Powered by Python for high-performance processing and seamless logic execution.
- Database: Structured using PostgreSQL to securely manage user progress, submissions, and evaluation data.
- AI Integration: Leveraging powerful Google Gemini and Gemma models to automate complex code reviews, provide intelligent feedback, and power the instant doubt-clearing assistant.
Challenges we faced
One of the core challenges was fine-tuning the AI models to evaluate technical task submissions accurately and provide constructive, human-like feedback without being overly critical or ambiguous. We overcame this by designing strict verification prompts and leveraging structured schemas to ensure the AI acts as a supportive, highly competent mentor.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We successfully built an end-to-end working prototype that seamlessly bridges the gap between learning and doing. Seeing the AI analyze code submissions and instantly return contextual, high-quality technical feedback was a massive milestone for us.
What we learned
Building LiUANtx taught us a great deal about prompt engineering for technical assessment and how to efficiently orchestrate multi-model AI workflows to support real-time student learning experiences.
What's next for LiUANtx
We plan to scale the platform by expanding the current curriculum tracks, integrating more comprehensive automated testing suites, and building an advanced analytics dashboard so users can track their skill-growth trends dynamically over time.
