Little Guys
I originally started on this project several years ago shortly after playing with emergent systems like Conway's game of life. I wanted to create a system where more complex behavior could begin to emerge, but still rely on as simple of a ruleset as possible.
Currently, the little blobs search out food to keep their hunger from rising, and their health from deteriorating. As a guy gets hungry, there is an internal "desire" that increases, which makes them move toward the nearest food source.
