Moriah

7 year old Moriah Eyler was born with the ability to bring the dead back to life. Her Father, the success-driven scientist Dr. Gregory Eyler, exploits this ability in order to push his experiments to the limit. Moriah’s only companions are their Father’s former experiments that roam and run the Eyler home, a giant, 1870’s Victorian style mansion. The scar on her face was given to her by her father, after an attempt to comfort him after a failed experiment went wrong. Moriah is frequently found playing with the creatures and amalgamations that she brings back to life, forcing them to listen to a story or play pretend with her.

Best Friend

Referred to as Fruend by Moriah, this bizarre borzoi is one of Father’s reanimated experiments. He is frequently found glued to Moriah’s side or with his head on her lap while she reads, always with both of his tails wagging in satisfaction.

The Butler

Thought to be Father’s oldest living experiment. Serves as a personal butler to both Dr. Gregory Eyler and Moriah. Has tried to fill the role of Moriah’s father figure to the best of his ability. Seems to know more about the purpose of Dr. Gregory’s experiments than he lets on.

Inspiration

Little Moriah was originally inspired by the architecture 1870 victorian homes. I tried to imagine what sort of characters would live in that style house in a more modern era.

What's next for Little Moriah

Moriah and her story was originally thought of as a puzzle narrative game. The player as Moriah would explore the giant mansion, interacting with creatures and collecting evidence to piece together the story of her past. In an ideal world, this would come to fruition!
