Our team would like to address the challenge presented by MakeSPP. The challenge was how sales in many small and local restaurants were decreasing due to the pandemic. These businesses fail to attract customers and are drowned out by big chain restaurants on many platforms. We would like to help small businesses overcome this challenge by giving them a platform where they can promote their businesses. Our project addresses this challenge by creating an app called Little Bites which lets small business owners promote their restaurant and lets users look for local restaurants easily. By giving small local restaurants a platform, they could attract new customers more easily without losing to big chain restaurants. To develop our app we used Code.org with JavaScript and block code to create Little Bites and shared it through a local server to make it accessible to everyone and user-friendly. This was our first hackathon, therefore, we were a bit rusty. Coming up with a good idea to start off was a challenge. Along with time management since we were a bit rushed to finish the project which caused us to be less detailed in making our app. The charming food images placed around our app are also pleasant to look at because they are tiny and cute.
All of us as a team, thanks to this hackathon, built up our skills to efficiently communicate online and learned how to combine all of our skills into making a good project.
