We were inspired by the game Little Alchemy to create a similar educational game that was space-centric. We focused on using the fundamental building blocks of the universe, simplified to the most basic concepts (dust, time, pressure, gas), which would make various parts of the universe. We followed the basic timeline of Darwinian evolution as well, and worked our way to creating a human. To incorporate DEI components, we introduced four important female figures in the evolution of space science. We used Java and JavaFX to build the program and manage interactions in the user interface. We're especially proud of each of the hand-drawn elements, giving our game a cozy, cartoon-ish feel - perfect for our audience of younger students. Next steps would be adding in more elements and more combinations, and potentially using three or more objects to make a new object.
