Inspiration

My inspiration stems from a deep concern for the escalating global litter crisis and its profound impact on environmental and social well-being. I envision a cleaner planet, healthier communities, and a more engaged populace committed to responsible waste management. This app is born from the belief that even small individual actions, when amplified collectively, can lead to monumental change. I am driven by the desire to foster a sense of shared responsibility and to empower individuals to become active participants in creating a pristine environment for current and future generations.

What it does

"Litterless" is a dynamic web application designed to encourage and track public litter picking. It provides an intuitive platform where users, whether registered or guests, can easily log their contributions to global cleanliness. The app features real-time counters showcasing the total litter picked worldwide, cities engaged, making the impact tangible. Beyond individual contributions, it fosters community through a unique "Duals/Challenges" system, allowing friends to motivate each other. Users can earn badges and climb leaderboards, transforming environmental stewardship into an engaging and rewarding experience.

How I built it

The App is completely built by Bolt in one shot promt. (Second prompt only to add Bolt badge) .The frontend is powered by Vite.js, chosen for its rapid development capabilities and seamless integration with Supabase, our backend database solution. Supabase provides robust real-time data synchronization for counters and leaderboards, as well as secure authentication for user accounts. The user interface is crafted with a focus on modern aesthetics, intuitive navigation, and an encouraging tone, using a thoughtfully chosen color palette that reflects cleanliness and environmental awareness.

Challenges I ran into

No such challenge during building. Bolt handled everything. The only challenge was to create a best one shot prompt, which took some time and brainstorming.

What's next for Litterless - For a Cleaner Plant

I need to add more functionalities, a few pages, such as About Us, refine Profile page, marketing, awareness, social media accounts, etc.
