Literally Hack Dartmouth

ECSC has little tablets on the walls that display classroom schedules and other info. I demonstrate a technique to discreetly take control of these tablets and turn them into remote spy cameras.

Inspiration

I don't think it's a smart idea to put internet-connected cameras and microphones all over out new building. I made this to demonstrate that this kind of thoughtless "IoT" is a totally unnecessary risk.

Challenges

None really; this was easy to achieve. Just reboot the tablet by unplugging it, enable adb in settings in the window before the lockdown app loads, and then escalate to root with adb root. Everything after that was just writing a basic Linux reverse shell.
