Inspiration
Wouldn't it be awesome if...
What it does
...there was an effective, quick, and easy-to-use tool to automate the dubbing of YouTube videos for the visually impaired, linguistically challenged, or curious individual?
If you're not one of those people, we promise that Google's voice dubbing over everything is always funny so try it out anyways please :D
How we built it
With our blood, sweat, and tears. Endless hours spent slaving over optimizing and streaming and things the trauma of which we would rather not revisit/put you, the reader, through.
Challenges we ran into
Constantly wanting to fall asleep. Some of us did not rest well the day before.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
IT IS WORKING AND IT IS BEAUTIFUL
What we learned
Endurance.
What's next for Lit Dubs
Make it more...
L iterate, so that the dubs make sense even when the subtitles it's based off of don't make sense!
I mmediate, because there's always a need for speed. Imagine getting to the point where you can stream the dubbed video as quickly as an ordinary YouTube video.
T ailored to each video - in other words, making the dubs flow better and sound more natural.
