Inspiration
Our inspiration came from the lack of practical attendance methods used by college professors, especially when the class sizes increase.
What it does
LiSpMiJoJe is an app that in tandem with a tablet will allow each student sign in with their student ID credentials, which a successful sign in updates the class attendance in real time. One logged in, students will have access to view and modify their own copy of the day's lecture slides and export their work to their school account.
How we built it
Built originally as an Android application, we used XML documents for the UI design and Java for its functionality (transitions, question submissions, etc).
Challenges we ran into
One of the big setbacks we had were that it was difficult to upload pdf files onto the app, which would be used for students to actively annotate the slides using the paint functionality in Android Studio.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Being that it was the first Hackathon for the majority of our team, we are proud to have learned the process of creating an application as well learning the specifics of Android Studio in such little time.
What we learned
Said above, we learned the process needed to create User Interface development as well as the basics of back-end functionality for Android applications.
