Inspiration

We were inspired by the effort and perseverance by the Ukrainian people and wanted to make an app to assist them.

What it does

Civilians in need can post request for supplies like food, water and medical supplies. Volunteers may read their requests and accept the delivery.

How we built it

We divided the app into features, then divided the work between members using whiteboards and Trello.

Challenges we ran into

We ran into an user permission error in our Firebase project resulting us in making a new Firebase project. We also had various problems with pushing bugs onto git, resulting in us having to create backups and branches.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Able to complete an minimal viable product in a short time span.

What we learned

We learnt about making branches so we could go back and resolve conflicts between merges. We also increased our understanding of read/write in Firestore.

What's next for Lionheart

If we were to continue this app, we would like to finish the chat functionality and add a reputation feature for volunteers.

I worked on the both front-end and a bit of back-end. It was my first time working with bootstrap to this degree. I was able to learn a lot from this Hackathon about front-end.

Bryan Tran
Most of my contribution went into the back end using firebase. I worked on sign up and login using firebase authentication. I also made a new branch in Github and worked on the chat functionality there. Unfortunately, we ran out of time to complete it.

Evon Bausa
I made a chat function. I have implemented the function to store data to the firebase database. Also, I made the function that read data from the firebase database. However, I could not make this function a real-time reacting function.
To make a real-time chat function, I have to study node.js and npm. I would like to make a fully functional chat app sometime.

I worked on the help form task flow which allows users to submit help requests and view/accept requests. Most of my work was back-end javascript (reading and writing data to Firestore) however I also wrote the html for the related pages.
