Inspiration
We're inspired to build our own file-sharing and storage system because I see the need for students to share resources easily. Education thrives on collaboration, and having a seamless, secure platform to exchange materials and knowledge is essential. By creating this system, I hope to empower students to enhance their learning experiences and support one another's growth, ultimately contributing to a more connected and knowledgeable community.
What it does
The file-sharing and storage system I'm developing offers a versatile array of functionalities. Users can easily upload various file types, granting them the ability to efficiently manage their digital resources. With the system, individuals can generate short, easily shareable URLs to distribute their files or retract sharing privileges as needed. It allows users to effortlessly view their uploaded files and access content shared with them by others. Moreover, users can connect with peers by sharing files directly via their usernames, streamlining collaborative efforts and creating a seamless, user-centric experience.
How we built it
We built it using Python Django, html, css, javascript, and sqlite. And we deployed it to pythonanywhere.com
Challenges we ran into
Managing a complex database model is a challenging task, we had to dig into database schema design and implement it using Django.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We're proud that we're able to build this complex system in this short time.
What we learned
Coming up with this project in a short period has trained our ability to prototype, and we indeed gained hands-on experience in building projects.
What's next for Little Cloud
We can implement a mini forum(discussion board with commenting) functionality so we can further connect the users.
