Inspiration

Besides popular career paths like technology and finance, what other kinds of career opportunities have we missed? After the pandemic, how could we help unemployed people explore other potential career paths? Learning from major job-searching and networking platforms like LinkedIn and Fiverr, we create LinkZ to provide introductions and online courses to help people restart their life in unique career paths like art therapists or waterslide testers.

What it does

How we built it

LinkZ provides introductions and online courses to help career seekers to start a new career path. For each career, LinkZ has an introduction video for each career to tell users what the career really is. Then, LinkZ offers excellent online courses endorsed by successful practitioners to teach them essential knowledge and skills in these fields. In order to help them find potential customers, LinkZ also has a platform to connect them with customers. For people in career paths that provide one-time services, they could post their services on the platform and potential customer who needs their services could contact them. Thus, LinkZ provides job opportunities for people who just started and also gives customers a platform in which they can find services that are rarely provided by similar digital platforms.

Challenges we ran into

We mainly use Miro and Figma to build LlinkZ. We use Miro to collect information, manage project progress, and, administrate workflow. Then, we use Figma to build the product prototype and accomplish the UIUX design.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

The main challenge is the limited time. It takes us a lot of time to finalize our idea so we have a relatively limited time to finish prototyping and UIUX design.

What we learned

From a technical perspective, we improved our prototyping skills and UIUX designing skills. In the process, we also learned how to design and promote a new product and write a business plan including feasibility and marketing strategy.
