Inspiration
We were inspired by how often networking tools feel forgettable, generic, or disconnected from real personal branding. Traditional business cards get lost, and many digital alternatives feel impersonal or limited to a screen. We wanted to create something that feels memorable in someone’s hand while still giving them the speed and convenience of a modern digital profile. That idea became Linket Connect: a custom NFC product paired with a personalized digital experience.
What it does
Linket Connect lets users share their information instantly with a tap. Each custom NFC product links to a mobile-friendly digital profile where users can display links, contact details, branding, and a short personal or business introduction. It also includes lead capture functionality, making it easy for potential clients, collaborators, or customers to leave their information. Instead of just exchanging contact details, Linket Connect helps users create a more engaging first impression and turn a quick interaction into an actual connection.
How we built it
We built Linket Connect by combining a physical and digital product experience. On the hardware side, we focused on designing customizable NFC-enabled products that feel unique to each user or business. On the software side, we developed a digital profile platform that acts as the destination after the tap, allowing users to present their information in a clean, organized, and visually branded format. We also designed editable themes, link sections, contact-sharing features, and lead capture tools so the platform could serve both individuals and businesses.
Challenges we ran into
One of the biggest challenges was creating a product that felt seamless across both physical and digital touchpoints. It was not enough for the NFC product to look good. The digital experience also had to feel polished, intuitive, and worth visiting. Another challenge was balancing customization with usability. We wanted users to feel like their profile and product were personal, while still keeping setup simple and approachable. We also had to think carefully about how to make the platform useful for both solo users and businesses with more advanced branding needs.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We are proud of building something that stands out from standard digital networking tools by combining custom physical design with a functional digital platform. We are especially proud that Linket Connect is not just another profile link page. It creates a more memorable interaction through tap-to-connect technology and gives users a real way to capture and organize leads. We are also proud of the flexibility of the concept, since it can work for students, professionals, creators, and businesses alike.
What we learned
We learned that strong networking tools need more than convenience. They need personality, clarity, and a reason for someone to remember the interaction. We also learned how important it is to design around user workflow, especially when blending hardware with software. Throughout the process, we saw that people value tools that are fast and simple, but they also care deeply about how those tools represent their identity or brand.
What's next for Linket Connect
Next, we want to expand customization options, improve the business-facing setup process, and continue refining the digital profile experience. We also want to strengthen lead management features so users can do more after making a connection. In the long term, our goal is to make Linket Connect a platform that helps people and businesses network more effectively, present themselves more intentionally, and turn everyday interactions into lasting opportunities.
