inspiration

Here is my own story. I love shopping and I believe every college student does. So I always buy tons of things but found out most of them being useless after shopping ends. Also, I live with my friends. Sometimes they brought the same things which I have already. Then I think it will perfect to share a cloud list with friends and families so that we can check what we both need and what we can share to use, which can save time, money, and carbon emission.

Goal

Created an App that allows people to share their shopping lists in order to prevent over-shopping, to reduce the chance of purchasing duplicated stuff.

Building the App with Swift, Google Firestore. Build from code, instead of using interface builder/storyboard.

Challenges

Syncing among devices Save list information offline, using CoreData [TODO] Notification to alert users that lists have been updated Update UITableView by each cell instead of refreshing the whole UITableView
