Inspiration

Many English-learning platforms, including popular ones, often fail to keep learners motivated or truly engaged. While they provide content, they don’t always provide an effective or enjoyable learning experience. As a high school student who has personally struggled with the frustration and lack of motivation in learning English—despite knowing its importance—I wanted to create a solution that makes learning not only effective, but also enjoyable. This led to the creation of LinguaQuest—a platform designed to transform English learning into an interactive, motivating, and personalized journey.

⚙️ What it does

LinguaQuest is an interactive English-learning platform that adapts to different skill levels and learning goals.

🔹 Three Learning Levels

  • Beginner Mode
    Learn through RPG-style gameplay, exploring vocabulary across various topics in a fun and engaging way.
  • Intermediate Mode
    A more focused learning environment that emphasizes grammar and commonly used vocabulary. Users actively practice through interactive simulations and structured exercises designed to improve retention and motivation.
  • Advanced Mode
    Tailored for two types of learners:
    • Non-IELTS learners: Focus on advanced general English, including idioms and real-life communication.
    • IELTS learners: Practice with mock tests and receive AI-powered analysis, feedback, and improvement strategies for academic English. ### Key Features
  • 🪙 Reward System
    Earn coins by completing sessions and challenges. Coins can be used to customize characters and share progress with friends.

  • 🔔 Smart Reminder System
    Encourages consistent learning through timely notifications.

  • 🎓 Certification System
    Completing levels grants certifications that can be exchanged for rewards or shared as achievements.

🛠️ How we built it

  • Beginner Mode: Frontend-based interactive RPG system
  • Intermediate Mode: Frontend → API → AI model + voice interaction → API → Frontend (simulation-based learning)
  • Advanced Mode: Mock testing system → AI analysis → personalized feedback → frontend display

The platform integrates frontend design, backend logic, and AI-powered features to create a seamless learning experience.

  • Limited resources for training and optimizing AI features
    Despite these challenges, we worked to ensure a smooth and functional system.

Our goal is to make English learning not just effective, but something learners truly enjoy and stay motivated to continue.
