Inspiration

Many Brazilians struggle to practice real English conversations and get personalized feedback. We wanted to create an AI-powered platform that makes learning natural, fun, and culturally relevant.

What it does

LinguaLearn helps Brazilian users improve their English through AI-driven chat conversations, pronunciation feedback, and writing correction, all personalized to their learning level.

How we built it

We used built-in AI APIs to power real-time conversations, grammar analysis, and pronunciation scoring. The front end was built with React, and the backend integrates the AI models via API calls.

Challenges we ran into

Balancing accurate language correction with natural conversation flow was tough. We also faced challenges in adapting the AI feedback to common Portuguese-English mistakes.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We built a fully functional prototype that helps users practice English speaking and writing naturally with AI support and contextual feedback in Portuguese.

What we learned

We learned how to fine-tune AI interactions for language learning, create user-friendly feedback loops, and adapt English teaching to specific cultural and linguistic needs.

What's next for LinguaLearn

Next, we’ll add voice interaction, progress tracking, and gamified challenges to boost engagement. We also plan to expand the platform to other languages beyond English.
