Inspiration

Finding friends to play sport with can be difficult if you don't want to commit to a club. Limber helps members of the community meet each other and stay active.

Why did we name it "Limber"? "Limber" is defined as "lithe or agile" and "to warm up in preparation for exercise or activity, especially sport or athletics". Conveniently, it also rhymes with "Tinder".

What it does

Let's say you want to find someone to play badminton with. You'll only travel up to 25 km away and you're only available on the weekend and in the evenings on weekdays. Put your preferences into Limber. Limber will show you people who match your preferences (who are close to you and have compatible availabilities). You can "Like" or "Dislike" their profile. If they "Like" you too, you can privately message each other and arrange a meet-up to play sport.

Challenges we ran into

  • Calculating the distance between users:

What's next for Limber

  • Perhaps monetising it by allowing companies to advertise their sports equipment or services (e.g. physical therapy) on the website.
  • Adding a scheduler that shows local sports centres and the court availabilities in a timetable format. Users can highlight times on the calendar to show their availabilities. This will allow friends to see each others' availabilities and easily schedule times to meet up.
