Inspiration
I taught children how to mod Minecraft in the summer of 2015. The mods, in the beginning, were fairly simple. As the summer progressed I had the opportunity to take an in-depth look at Minecraft's source code. From there, I was able to teach kids more advanced mods. My love for modding has grown since then, and now I add to my own personal mod whenever possible.
What it does
My mod has revolved around lightning (hence "Lightning Mod"). I have created a couple new blocks that spawn lightning (Thor's Block) and an ore that spawns "lightning zombies" (Lightning Ore)."Lightning Zombies" will attack the player upon sight. If you're looking to spawn your own lightning, look for the "Lightning Rod." All of my items are craft-able and require the "Lightning Ingot" to be crafted. The "Lightning Sword" and "Wings" (gives player flight abilities) are in development.
How I built it
I used Java and a program called "Forge Modding" to implement modifications to Minecraft.
What's next for Lightning Mod for Minecraft
I will continue to add more electrifying elements to my mod as I find the time. I will continue developing "Lightning Sword" and "Wings." I also hope to add non-lightning elements such as projectiles (exploding snowballs, arrow gun), new enemies, custom villages (residents of Minecraft's NPCs), and more.
