Inspiration
We talked with medical professionals who described asking patients to take their pill bottles and individually count every pill to get insight on their compliance. HCPs will send visiting nurses to patients homes to check in on their compliance. And despite all that, doctors receive very little actionable data to help influence treatment
What it does
We built an AI agent, an app, and an individual pill dispenser (for exact tracking). When our algorithm detects that a patient is non compliant, the AI gives the patient a call to try to figure out why, resolve issues on the spot, or escalate the situation before catastrophe. The app has functionality to load prescriptions from an image of the pill bottle and the ability to view intake history for patients and caregivers.
How we built it
React Native and lots of janky 3d printing
Challenges we ran into
Designing the dispenser to reliably output 1 pill at a time was hard. Integration hell.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
The AI is actually really useful and we can see it helping a lot of people
What's next for Lighthouse
Integrating activity data
