Inspiration
The idea was greatly influenced by the endeavours of global leaders regarding efficient energy usage and eco-friendly solutions in various industries
What it does
Our solution aims to alter the functionality of street lighting systems throughout the world. During night time all street lights would automatically turned off when there are no cars. Once street lights detect a car, they turn on and remain that way until the car passes those lights.
How we built it
For the presentation we created a porotoype of our idea. It's a smart table lamp which reacts and lights up automatically when a toy car approaches it. For the table lamp we used a smart socket which is controlled by radio signals and we used ESP 8266 to send the signals to the socket. The ESP receives commands from Bosch XDK which has a light sensor and can detect the approaching car.
Challenges we ran into
We didn't know how to use the Bosch XDK.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Our toy car which has led headlights and our smart table lamp which reacts to the car.
What we learned
How to solder LED lights. We also improved our teamwork.
What's next for LightFlow
