Inspiration
My Inspiration was a needed solution... I have used postman all these moments and it has been becoming very slow! I tried out Bruno but its .bru file got in the way! I wanted pur JSON... sometimes even Bruno had problems with efficiency and some features were straight up missing! I did not like my data to be collected! That issue and problem to fix inspired me to create LightBase!
What it does
It allows developers to seamlessly test HTTP endpoints and manage SQL databases from a single, unified interface. It enables users to execute fast queries and store their request collections natively as plain JSON files directly within their local directories. It eliminates the need for heavy, cloud-dependent software, allowing developers to version-control their API workflows via Git while keeping data secure and offline.
How I built it
I built it using C for the core and Python for the bridge and somethings C can't handle itself, For the UI I use HTML , JS (JavaScript) and CSS. For the UI Design we used Googles Material 3 Web package and their Material Icons package!
Challenges I ran into
The main challange was getting it to work and Accept, Deny, Send and Hold API Requests! The UI was also a issue as understanding what will provide simplicity to people varies as likes change from people to people!
Accomplishments that I'm proud of
The greatest acomplishment for the project was my first release of the project, when I got told by people what was wrong, when they shared ideas!
What I learned
Sometimes there is a issue waiting to be solved you just need to find it!
What's next for LightBase
For Now I am migrating form the C language to Swift for better Security! But more is planned...
