This will measure the amount of light you use, which will help to save energy. You can create a chart to help you remember how much electricity you are using based on the microbit's measurements.
I got this idea because many people waste electricity which is made by burning coal. Coal, when burned, reacts with oxygen in the air to produce carbon dioxide, a heat-trapping gas. When released into the atmosphere, carbon dioxide works like a blanket, heating the earth up and causing global warming.
The microbit measures how much time the lights were on and repeatedly displays them on the screen. If the lights are on for more than 1 hour (changed it to 0.5 secs in the video to show you), the microbit makes a noise, which indicates that you have forgotten to turn off the light. In short, it helps not to waste electricity and it saves the earth.
