LIFEYA — The Operating System for Modern Beauty Businesses
Inspiration
LIFEYA started as a personal project.
When my wife opened her own beauty salon, I wanted to create something special for her instead of using another generic booking platform. I decided to build a custom website that matched her brand and gave her clients a better booking experience.
As I continued developing the platform, I realized that many salon owners faced exactly the same problems: appointments were managed across notebooks, spreadsheets, messaging apps, and several disconnected services.
What started as a gift for one salon gradually evolved into a complete operating system that other beauty businesses could use as well.
Today, LIFEYA is expanding beyond our first salon into a platform designed for many salons.
What it does
LIFEYA is an all-in-one SaaS platform built specifically for beauty businesses.
It includes:
- Smart appointment scheduling
- Online booking websites
- Client CRM
- Finance and reporting
- Team management
- Services & pricing
- Staff permissions
- Multi-salon management
- Analytics
- Data export and backup tools
Salon owners can manage every aspect of their business from one platform, while clients enjoy a fast and simple booking experience.
How we built it
LIFEYA is a full-stack web application designed with scalability in mind.
During OpenAI Build Week, GPT-5.6 and Codex became an important part of my development workflow. They helped accelerate debugging, improve architecture, refine the interface, write tests, and solve complex engineering problems.
One of the biggest examples was a difficult calendar rendering bug that caused appointments to appear in incorrect weekly columns after rendering. Working together with Codex, I identified the root cause, redesigned the rendering logic, verified historical and future bookings, added regression tests, and safely prepared the production deployment.
This collaboration allowed me to spend more time building features instead of searching for bugs.
Challenges
Building a reliable scheduling system was the biggest challenge.
The platform needed to correctly support:
- multiple employees
- overlapping appointments
- different working schedules
- vacations and days off
- multiple salons
- permissions and roles
- accurate calendar rendering
- financial consistency
Another challenge was creating software that is powerful enough for salon owners while remaining simple enough for everyday use.
Accomplishments
What started as a gift for one salon has become a complete salon operating system.
Today LIFEYA already includes:
- Booking System
- CRM
- Finance
- Team Management
- Public Booking Pages
- Multi-Salon Architecture
- Analytics
- Reporting
- Data Management
The platform is actively used, continuously improved, and prepared for expansion to additional salons.
What we learned
Building a real product taught me that software architecture becomes increasingly important as a project grows.
Testing, maintainability, performance, and deployment are just as important as adding new features.
Working with GPT-5.6 and Codex also changed my workflow. Rather than replacing development, AI became a collaborative engineering partner that helped solve complex technical problems while allowing me to stay in control of every architectural decision.
What's next
The next step is expanding LIFEYA to more beauty salons while introducing AI-powered automation, deeper analytics, and international localization.
The long-term vision is to build the operating system that modern beauty businesses can rely on every day—from their very first appointment to managing multiple successful salon locations.
