Inspiration

We always got a lot of notifications from the Fitbit app, but never knew what it meant. Being able to simplify it whilst also getting some advanced data was what we wanted, so that's what inspired us to build LifeRing.

What it does

It currently takes three different health categories (physical, genetic, and mental) and displays data in a simplified and organized manner so that it is easier to understand, as well as any extra treatment/prevention options. A StatsMode is available for anyone interested in seeing the more complex data (such as a healthcare professional).

How we built it

Combining UI built by Lovable, modifying it with Gemini, and describing the functions to Gemini to build through Jetpack Compose we streamlined the app to work with over 95% of Android devices.

Challenges we ran into

Getting a first start on all the functions we wanted to make and how to organize/categorize them, and how to transmit data over a network continuously.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Setting up a network Getting a smooth user interface

What we learned

How to efficiently use various AI tools to streamline efficiency of programming so that we didn't get stuck on specific syntax and tools.

What's next for LifeRing

Adding more categories and statistics, the capacity to update given data such as genomic data to detect new mutations (as currently we do not have access to a human genome in file form, or at all). Being able to then use Bluetooth to more reliably transmit data without needing an IP address or port connection.
