Inspiration
Many people have goals they genuinely want to achieve, but turning those goals into actionable steps and staying consistent can be difficult. I wanted to build something more practical than an AI tool that simply gives advice. This inspired me to create LifePilot AI, an application that turns goals into plans and helps users track their progress.
What it does
LifePilot AI converts a user's goal into a personalized plan containing specific outcomes, milestones, and actionable tasks. Users can mark tasks as complete, track their progress, and use AI-assisted replanning to adjust their plans when circumstances change.
The aim is to help users move from deciding what they want to achieve to taking measurable action.
How I built it
I built LifePilot AI as a web application using Next.js, React, and TypeScript. Supabase provides authentication and database services, while the Google Gemini API powers AI-based planning and replanning. The application is deployed on Vercel.
I focused on connecting AI-generated plans with persistent task tracking, so users can return to their goals and continue working rather than starting from scratch each time.
Challenges and learnings
One of the main challenges was configuring and connecting multiple services, particularly authentication, environment variables, and the AI API. Troubleshooting these integrations helped me understand how the frontend, backend services, and AI capabilities work together in a deployed application.
Through this project, I gained practical experience in building and deploying a full-stack AI application, integrating external APIs, managing authentication, and connecting AI-generated outputs to a user's ongoing progress.
What's next
LifePilot AI aims to make goal management more practical by helping users plan clearly, track completed work, and adapt their next steps as their circumstances change.
