Inspiration

We noticed that many people set ambitious goals but struggle to break them into practical, actionable steps. Traditional to-do lists often lack guidance and motivation. We wanted to build an AI-powered productivity companion that not only stores goals but also helps users achieve them with personalized planning and support.

What it does

LifePilot AI is a smart goal management platform that allows users to create goals, set deadlines, and monitor progress. It generates structured roadmaps with AI-powered task descriptions, tracks completion through interactive checklists and progress indicators, and includes an AI chat assistant that provides productivity tips, planning advice, and motivation tailored to the user's objectives.

How we built it

We built the frontend using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript to create an interactive user experience. The backend was developed with Node.js and Express, while MongoDB was used to store goals, tasks, and progress. AI integration was added to generate personalized roadmap content and power the in-app assistant, making the platform more dynamic and user-focused.

Challenges we ran into

One of the biggest challenges was integrating AI-generated content with goal management while keeping the user experience smooth. We also worked through issues related to asynchronous API calls, dynamically updating tasks, and ensuring progress tracking remained accurate as users completed checklist items.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We successfully created a platform that goes beyond simple task management by combining AI with structured goal planning. The application automatically generates meaningful roadmap content, tracks user progress in real time, and provides an intelligent assistant to help users stay focused and productive.

What we learned

This project helped us strengthen our understanding of full-stack development, API integration, asynchronous programming, database design, and user experience considerations. We also learned how AI can enhance productivity applications by delivering personalized guidance instead of generic task lists.

What's next for LifePilot AI

Our future plans include adaptive roadmaps that evolve based on user progress, reminders and notifications, team collaboration features, analytics dashboards, voice interaction, calendar integration, and deeper AI personalization that recommends the next best action based on each user's habits and achievements.
