Inspiration: as students at a rigorous high school, we know first hand the stress and and anxiety that school can produce. We were inspired to create a website that would provide a plethora of resources to improve and maintain a healthy mental state.
What it does: On Lifeline's website, you can scroll through a variety of resources designed for users to improve their mental health, such as hotlines to text/call, or apps to use to aid in maintaining your mental health.
How we built it: We used a template on Replit, and then customized it with our own HTML and CSS.
Challenges we ran into: we all had minimal experience in front-end development, so it was difficult at times to implement the API effectively.
Accomplishments that we're proud of: we created a comprehensive and usable website that can truly help people improve their mental health. Additionally, we communicated effectively and split up all the work equally.
What we learned: we increased our proficiency in HTML and CSS, and also obtained first hand experience in creating products through coding, as this was the first time any of us have participated in a Hackathon or anything similar.
What's next for Lifeline: we would like to implement a chatbot called Kara, which can provide 24/7 and confidential support to whoever is using Lifeline.
