Inspiration
Thalassemia patients require frequent blood transfusions, but finding compatible donors quickly is often a life-threatening challenge. Manual donor searches cause delays, while lack of transparency in blood tracking and NGO funding reduces trust. We were inspired to build Lifeline+, a platform that leverages AI for predictive donor matching and Blockchain for transparent blood tracking, to provide a faster, safer, and smarter solution for Blood Warriors and patients.
What it does
AI Donor Prediction: Predicts donor availability based on donation patterns, last donation date, and geolocation. Real-Time Donor Alerts: Sends instant notifications to nearby compatible donors. Blockchain Blood Tracking (BloodChain): Records each blood unit donation and transfusion securely and transparently. AI Virtual Health Assistant: Provides reminders for transfusion schedules, medication, and connects patients to telemedicine support. NGO Fund Transparency: Tracks donations via Blockchain smart contracts to ensure clear and trustable fund usage.
How we built it
AI/ML: Built donor prediction using Python (Scikit-learn) with time-series modeling. Blockchain: Implemented mock smart contracts using Hyperledger Fabric for immutable blood tracking. Frontend: Developed patient/donor app in Flutter and NGO/hospital dashboard in React.js. Backend: Node.js with MongoDB for data management. APIs: Integrated mock APIs for e-RaktKosh and Blood Warriors' Blood Bridge. P(donor_availability)=f(last donation date,donation frequency,geolocation proximity)
Challenges we ran into
Integrating AI donor prediction with real-time notifications in limited hackathon time. Simulating Blockchain ledger for blood tracking with realistic data. Ensuring HIPAA/GDPR-compliant secure data handling. Lack of access to real-world hospital APIs for testing live scenarios.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Built a working MVP that predicts donors and sends alerts within seconds. Successfully demonstrated Blockchain-based blood tracking for transparent donations. Designed a telemedicine-ready interface with AI reminders for Thalassemia patients. Created an end-to-end prototype that aligns with Blood Warriors’ mission.

What's next for Lifeline+: AI Donor Prediction & Blockchain Blood Tracking
Integrate with e-RaktKosh and hospital systems for live blood inventory data. Launch full Blockchain-powered BloodChain for verified tracking. Add multi-language support for rural outreach. Partner with NGOs and government bodies for real-world pilot deployment. Expand to AI-powered genetic screening to help reduce new Thalassemia cases.
