Project Overview

Inspiration

The inspiration behind my project is deeply personal, rooted in the pain and challenges faced by my family due to my uncle's lifelong genetic disorder. Witnessing my mother's enduring struggle inspired me to make this project. I set out on a mission to create an application that could leverage artificial intelligence to predict the likelihood of genetic disorders in children.

Learning and Growth

Embarking on this journey, I encountered a steep learning curve. I have never previously developed such an extensive application or worked on a project of this nature. The process involved learning multiple frameworks and many different programming languages. While challenging, this learning experience was incredibly rewarding, contributing to this amazing project and my development.

Development Process

I initiated the project by conducting research into genetic disorders and the available datasets. Leveraging an open-source dataset from Kaggle, I began developing the application, focusing on its predictive capabilities. The journey involved extensive experimentation and continuous iteration to fine-tune the algorithms and ensure the app's accuracy and usability.

Challenges Faced

The primary challenge I faced was navigating the uncharted territory of developing a comprehensive genetic disorder prediction app using Flask. The complexity of integrating a model into a web app, building a user-friendly interface, and ensuring the app's reliability posed significant hurdles. However, determination, resilience, and my adorable little brother's support in making the video got me through all these hurdles.

The App's Mission

LifeLIne aims to provide families with early insights into potential genetic disorders in children, offering them a valuable window for proactive decision-making and exploring treatment options. By transforming my family's pain into a mission for positive change, I believe this app can bring hope and understanding to families facing similar challenges.

Thank you for joining us on this important mission.
