Inspiration

As a detailed planner in life, I have numerous lists and lists of lists of things I want to do, need to do, items I need to remember, activities that must be done in sequence, and much more. I lack a single pane of glass through which I can see all that is happening in my life, when it needs to be done, and that prompts me to take action. From this need to make life simpler, organize the chaos, and ensure I get things done, LifeFlow was born.

What it does

The platform helps you manage your life by using AI integration and manual entry of tasks, projects, and dates to remember, to create a single pane of glass for you to work from. Each item can have subtasks, descriptions, priority, and status. You have the ability to set start date and time as well as end date and time, and you can categorize them into custom categories. You can also set reminders to help you remember when things are due. Notifications come through your browser and in time will come through SMS and email. Tasks can be viewed in a list as well as on a calendar view with the ability to in-line add tasks while looking at the calendar users can manage integration with our Google calendar to Life flow and it is currently set up using ChatGPT for AI assistance to generate tasks.

How we built it

I built this platform entirely on Bolt with a supabase database. I did not develop on any other coding platform. I leveraged both Claude and ChatGPT for troubleshooting code.

Challenges we ran into

The domino effect, a minor change can suddenly set in motion other events that lead to unwanted changes. Seeking debugging advice from multiple platforms can be confusing as each has its perspective on what's the best way to structure.

I had to start over a few times, so hitting the finish line for this, given the amount of hours I've put in has been very rewarding.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

The overall vibe of the product. The integration with ChatGPT, the infrastructure I've set up to allow for future integration and additional features that I outlined on my road map. I only started working on this about a week ago, so I'm happy to deliver as much as I can in a short span. Lessons learned - I should've started on May 30.

What we learned

How to better code in Bolt. Understanding and learning the new answers of how it behaves the work got easier overtime. Trust me in the first few days after having to start over several times, I was ready to throw in the towel. Also start earlier.

What's next for LifeFlow

More additional features more integrations as part of the overall road map and ideally making this ready to sell in the marketplace.
