Inspiration

We noticed an increase in stress and lack of sleep in the modern day amongst people. We were inspired to create a product that helped in mitigating the effects if not entirely preventing.

What it does

It is an app that takes users' health data and calendar events give out suggestions on how to organize their calendar without compromises their health.

How we built it

We used Python for the back-end and JavaScript for the front-end. We also used GPT-5.4 as our generative AI tool to create the suggestions.

Challenges we ran into

We were originally going to take our data from Apple HealthKit but realized that you would need to pay a fee of almost $100 to access the data which led us to create mock data that we use to simulate the experience. We were also originally going to use Gemini for our AI model but after learning of the change of token rates, we could not continue with it and switch to OpenAI.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Creating a clean look for our app and actually bringing our idea to life.

What we learned

We learned how to prepare for creating a frontend so that it's not as last minute. We also learned how to work with each others' strengths and have fun while doing so.

What's next for LifeCal

Trying to sync it with other apple apps and actually acquiring HealthKit data to use.
