Inspiration

Many people want to grow in life—mentally, physically, creatively—but struggle with motivation and consistency. LifeXp was inspired by combining gaming, AI, and self-development, turning your personal growth into an interactive, rewarding game. I wanted to create a world where improving yourself feels as fun as playing a video game.

What it does

LifeXp helps users grow in real life through: AI-generated daily missions for mental health, creativity, productivity, fitness, etc. Gamified XP and Coin rewards system. A 2D pixel Virtual World with interactive zones (Missions, Shop, Battle Arena, Friends). Super abilities in battles, earned by completing real-life challenges. Social features: Add friends, chat, leaderboards, and future guilds. Automated events and special challenges triggered by AI.

It’s not just an app—it’s a mix of personal growth, gaming, and AI.

How we built it

Bolt.new for no-code AI app development. Firebase for authentication, real-time database, and data storage. Pixel art assets for the 2D game world. AI logic for mission generation and coaching. Functional systems including Missions, Shop, Battle Arena, and Social features.

Challenges we ran into

Ensuring persistent data saving in Firebase (initially XP, Coins, and Inventory would reset). Making sure every button and UI element performs real actions, not just decoration. Developing automated events that trigger based on time without manual intervention. Implementing real-time friend requests, chats, and leaderboard updates. Building the 2D world to allow seamless transitions (portals, zones, battles). Fixing bugs caused by added screens or unrequested UI changes.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Successfully created a fully interactive Virtual World combined with real-life growth tools. Implemented AI-powered mission generation. Built a gamified system that motivates users to improve daily. Integrated battles, abilities, and rewards based on real progress. Established foundations for friends, chat, and social systems.

What we learned

How to leverage no-code tools like Bolt.new to build complex apps quickly. The importance of real functionality vs. UI-only elements. How to design engaging gamified systems that connect real life and digital experience. Using AI creatively to personalize user experiences. Technical lessons in Firebase data management, real-time updates, and persistent game state

What's next for Life Xp

Improve AI Coach and mission diversity. Expand the Virtual World with more interactive zones. Launch fully automated real-time events. Finalize Guilds/Teams system. Improve UI/UX with smoother animations and responsive design. Polish all features for public release after the hackathon. Continue refining based on user feedback and testing.
