Inspiration
We wanted to be able to teach the public about the potential consequences of their daily decisions in a fun and intuitive way!
What it does
Life Sim creates a fun sandbox where you can explore life, learn, and be ahead of your peers. The best ways that you can avoid making mistakes that may hurt you or someone else physically, emotionally, financially, or socially is by experimenting through life and facing consequences or playing in our sandbox.
How we built it
We used repl.it with Python 3 to code our game. For the information, we researched a lot to make our simulation as realistic as possible (We also imported numerous libraries)
Challenges we ran into
Some challenges we ran into was researching and aquiring accurate information, but the biggest hurdle that we overcame was organization and how to even start since this was our very first hackathon.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Our proudest feats in the programming of Life Sim include our massive emphasis on freedom and attention to details. We really wanted our players to explore the game and learn. We are also very proud since we are novice programmers but with simple concepts, we made a very useful and fun code!
What we learned
That you have to be conscious and aware of your decisions on a daily basis. For example, you need to keep in check your happiness and money. But most importantly we learned to work as a group and had a lot of fun at this hackathon.
What's next for Life Sim
We hope to install graphics to further immerse you into the sandbox reality.
