Inspiration

We were inspired by UN global goals 14 and 15, which were life below water and life on land, respectively. We wanted to create an interactive website that would demonstrate the importance of these goals and further educate users on these topics.

What it does

Our project's purpose is to provide information on environmental issues. The concept and website is separated into two parts; "Life on land" and "Life below water." There are also an interactive games to provide an interactive format for users to learn more about the topics.

How I built it

The game was made using processing because that's the only way Judi knows how to make anything interactive. It took many hours of trying things out, seeing what worked, and realizing that I'd forgotten semicolons. The website itself was created using HTML and CSS. We were unable to embed the game into the website, so an image of the games were put instead to show how they would have looked.

Challenges I ran into

I actually haven't even known that processing exists for very long, so I don't know much about how to use it. It's similar to java, which was helpful, because I know things about java, but I kept having to look up how to do stuff. Also, we couldn't figure out how to embed the game into the website.

Accomplishments that I'm proud of

I actually coded an entire game, which I've never even tried to do before.

What I learned

I learned a lot about coding by trying new things. I also learned how to work with other people on one project, which I've never done in coding before.

What's next for Life on Land and Below Water

We would like to figure out how to embed the game into the website. We also planned to add a second interactive game about overfishing.
