Inspiration
The inspiration for the film is the idea of what that thing is; with all the impending dominance of AI in the creative field, what could it possibly not be able to do? And it dawned on me, having to deal with it myself, that with all its almost omnipotent scope of knowledge, an AI is incapable of experiencing writer's block.
What it does
It's a short film I entered for the Chroma Awards Drama/Romance category.
How we built it
I put together the film very much like the way a low-budget indie film is made, with me doing everything without a team. Thanks to AI tools, especially LTX Studio, which made all of this possible. It is an almost one-stop shop except for the need for image editing and musical scoring.
Challenges we ran into
Character consistency, facial expression, and lip sync have been issues throughout the creation process, requiring numerous iterations for each scene to get as close as possible to the desired output.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
With the limitation in budget and the fact that I was able to do this on as few platforms as possible, to use with a finite credit resource
What we learned
What's next for Life on a Bike
With a more generous AI credit budget, I would like to develop the film further according to what the short film is hinting at about the writer/cyclist protagonist and his mysterious suburban enclave.
