Inspiration
Our inspiration is platformer games such as Geometry Dash and Super Mario Bros., as well as science itself (because of the whole idea of cloning with DNA and genetics).
What it does
This website starts a game where you act as a character named "CLONE-7", and you must complete three levels with mini-games between each of them.
How we built it
We first used Claude AI to build the base code, and from there we started to make improvements by playtesting the game and polishing it (by adding music controls, skins, a shop, an inventory, etc.).
Challenges we ran into
In often times, many of our Javascript variables were returning as none, which caused lots of problems. What we did is that we used Live Server and opened the inspect tool and debugged the Javascript lines.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We are proud that we did better this year than last year in this same competition, going from a terminal based Python code all the way up to this. We are also proud that we learned how to code in HTML, CSS, and Javascript, using certain extensions in VSCode such as Live Share and Live Server.
What we learned
We learned a lot about HTML, CSS, and Javascript while doing this project. For example, we learned how to debug lines in HTML and Javascript.
What's next for Clone Protocol
After this competition, we will improve Clone Protocol by making it more accessible for all device types and turning it so it is viewable to the public as a website.
