Inspiration

The lack of an application that lets you manage digital receipts manually (i.e. scanning a QR code or providing your email/mobile number for each type you shop).

The lack of an app that motivates its users to maintain budgets.

What it does

Users will not have to bother keeping track of their receipts as they can easily see any of their invoices by just expanding their transactions. This solution also encourages users to shift to digital receipts from paper receipts as 11.2bn receipts have been printed each year in Australia, thus reducing the carbon footprint.

Users are motivated to stay under their budgets as they are rewarded with coins which they can redeem different sorts of vouchers from top brands.

How we built it

We used Figma, Flutter, Canva, Adobe Premiere Pro, Adobe Photoshop, and Youtube tutorials.

The app utilizes Open Banking APIs provided by the banks to retrieve the user's transaction data. This helps to supply them with the receipt by partnering with different vendors thus helping these companies in their greener policies. It also helps in categorizing transactions and determining the budget for the users.

Challenges we ran into

Initially, the main concern was the programming background as none of the members have had experience in app development. We used different Youtube tutorials to assist ourselves. Midway in the build week, one of our teammates exited, increasing the pressure on each member. One of the toughest tasks was to come up with an idea that was suitable enough.

Security Protocols

Security being our utmost priority, we use the same SSL encryption and robust firewall as the banks. Both technical and process controls have been put in place as we are committed to maintaining this high level of security.
