Inspiration
The inspiration behind Life DeFi was the desire to create a decentralized finance application and ecosystem that anyone, including our grandparents, could use with ease. We recognized that the current Web3 environment is often intimidating due to its reliance on complicated mnemonic strings and cryptic wallet addresses. To overcome this barrier, we envisioned a platform where users could interact with DeFi using simple, intuitive usernames instead of complex strings.
What it does
Life DeFi is a decentralized finance application and ecosystem that simplifies DeFi for everyone by allowing users to interact with decentralized financial services using easy-to-remember usernames instead of complex mnemonic strings. It offers a full suite of DeFi functionalities, including lending, borrowing, and staking, swaps, bridges, with debit cards, on/off ramp rails and a launchpad coming soon, all accessible through a user-friendly interface.
Additionally, Life DeFi provides its DeFi infrastructure as a service (DFaaS) to other networks, through our APIs and SDKs, enabling them to accelerate their entry into Web3 with a revenue-sharing model on all DeFi transactions.
How we built it
We started by focusing on the user experience, designing a platform that anyone, including those with minimal technical knowledge, could easily navigate. We integrated all essential DeFi functionalities and then extended our development to offer our infrastructure as a service to other networks. This involved creating APIs and SDK toolkits that other platforms could use to seamlessly integrate Life DeFi’s services into their ecosystems.
Now that we are at market with a product with all the core functionality, we are redesigning all the applications to have an even simpler user interface and user experience, and with a gamification backend that encourages users and provides rewards for in application activity such as users inviting their friends and using the decentralized finance functionality.
Challenges we ran into
One of the biggest challenges was balancing simplicity with security. We needed to ensure that our platform remained user-friendly while implementing robust security measures to protect user assets and data. Another challenge was scaling our infrastructure to support multiple networks without compromising on speed or efficiency.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We are proud to have developed a platform that truly makes DeFi accessible to everyone. Our ability to offer our DeFi infrastructure as a service (DFaas) to other networks is a significant achievement, as it positions Life DeFi as a key player in accelerating the adoption of decentralized finance. In addition to that, Life DeFi has closed 4 deals so far with large social networks to integrate our DFaas infrastructure, including 1 with a multi 7 figure user base, 2 with 6 figure user bases, and 1 with a 5 figure user base. This shows us that we have reached product market fit, and are first movers in the Decentralized Finance as a Service (DFaas) niche and that the market is receiving it well.
What we learned
We learned the importance of user-centric design in the adoption of decentralized technologies. Throughout the development process, we also gained valuable insights into scaling blockchain infrastructure to support a wide range of use cases while maintaining security and efficiency.
What's next for Life DeFi
Our next steps include further expanding our Decentralized Finance infrastructure-as-a-service offerings, onboarding more networks, and continuing to enhance the user experience. We also plan to explore additional DeFi functionalities and partnerships to further solidify our position as a leader in the decentralized finance space.
Some specific next steps are to complete our integration with the 4 networks mentioned above (specifically StoryFire with 3M users, Plato AI with 350K users, EdgeIn with 100K users and Bee Mee with 15K users). Only StoryFire is released so far, which means that there is alot of momentum to share with the community as the other 3 are.
In addition to our Decentralized Finance as a service infrastructure, in our short term roadmap (1 month) we are integrating into other networks, Life DeFi is about to release on and off ramps for users to buy digital assets using credit cards, and off ramps to sell their digital assets using Debit and Credit cards. Life DeFi is also about to release a new application suite design that has a gamification backend with incentives for users to do activities in app such as checking into the application(s), inviting new users and doing decentralized finance transactions.
Shortly after we are going to be integrating Morpheus decentralized AI infrastructure for users to do their decentralized finance services using AI, a launchpad for new launches through the LIFE platform, as well as our integration partners, securities infrastructure so that users can buy and hold securities in application, including LP stakes of funds, an NFT marketplace to buy and sell NFTs, identity and a private messaging system and other social functionality for users to message their friends, and continuing to be on the cutting edge integrating new protocols that our users want and innovative decentralized functionality as the market develops.
