Lieglex

Inspiration

This project was born from my passion for optimization and my desire to apply Wolfram technology to real-world challenges. I wanted to create a solution that helps organizations efficiently manage food resources while minimizing waste and costs. My goal was to contribute to the Zero Hunger (SDG 2) initiative and make an impact in sectors like NGOs, hospitals, schools, prisons, and shelters.

What I Learned

Throughout this journey, I had to push my limits. I went from being a front-end developer to a full-stack developer in just a week, diving deep into JavaScript, APIs, JSON, jQuery, and Wolfram Language. Managing both my hackathon project and academic exams simultaneously was a challenge, forcing me to master time management and prioritize tasks effectively.

How I Built It

Tech Stack: The project integrates Wolfram APIs, JavaScript, and cloud deployment.

Optimization Engine: Advanced mathematical optimization helps distribute food efficiently.

APIs: The system retrieves food data via barcode scanning and performs automated calculations.

Automation: The platform suggests cost-effective meal plans while ensuring nutritional balance.

Challenges I Faced

⏳ Time Constraints: Balancing my workload and finishing the project on time was extremely tough.🤯 Burnout: I worked nearly 60 hours in two days, pushing my limits to develop the core functionality.🛠 Implementation Hurdles: While multiple Wolfram APIs were planned, only one was successfully integrated due to time constraints.🎯 Hackathon Pivot: Realizing that my project was too ambitious for the hackathon, I strategically pivoted to the ideathon, where idea innovation holds more weight than full implementation.

Impact & Future Plans

Despite the obstacles, I am incredibly proud of what I have built. Lieglex lays the foundation for a scalable, intelligent food optimization platform. Moving forward, I plan to:

Fully integrate all planned Wolfram APIs.

Improve the optimization algorithms for better efficiency.

Expand the platform to real-world testing in NGOs and food distribution programs.

Lieglex is more than just a project—it’s a mission to fight hunger through technology. 🚀
