Inspiration
Many people, especially in rural areas, struggle to understand legal documents due to complex language and limited legal access. LexiGem was inspired to bridge this gap through AI and multilingual support.
What it does
LexiGem is an AI-powered legal document analyzer that identifies whether a document is legal or contains illegal or non-compliant elements. Users can upload any type of document, receive instant summaries, and ask questions to extract specific details—in Tamil, English, or Telugu.
How we built it
We built LexiGem using AI-based document parsing, multilingual language models, and legal analysis logic. The system processes documents, summarizes content, flags risks, and enables interactive querying across supported languages.
Challenges we ran into
Understanding legal terminology across multiple languages, supporting diverse document formats, and maintaining accuracy while simplifying complex content were key challenges.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We delivered a multilingual legal analysis platform that significantly reduces document reading time, improves accessibility for rural users and officers, and enables faster, informed decision-making.
What we learned
We learned how multilingual AI can create real social impact, how to simplify legal language without losing meaning, and how to design inclusive legal technology.
What’s next for LexiGem
We plan to expand language support, improve legal accuracy with region-specific laws, and deploy LexiGem in rural offices and public service centers for wider impact.
