Our app features Meta's Lexical library, an extensible text-editor framework.

What it does

• Multiple programmers can post their weekly retrospectives to a journal feed.
• Rich-text editing capabilities.
• Custom emoji shortcuts to display 🟢🟡🔴.
• <code> block input.

How we built it

• React, Lexical Text Editor & Firebase

Challenges we ran into

• Lexical is highly customizable and extensible
• The flip-side of that is that the documentation is very deep and requires a lot of research!

Accomplishments that we're proud of

• Lateef: creating the UI & Firebase backend; accomplishing code input feature
• Will: rigging up custom emojis; getting the rich-text editor to function

What we learned

• Quite a lot about Lexical!

What's next for Retrospective Journal

• More robust backend with user authentication.
