About Our Project: Aura Online
🌟 Inspiration
- Anime vibes: Solo Leveling & Sword Art Online where characters grind to level up.
- Real life: we all challenge friends or ourselves — gym goals, study sprints, or just touching grass.
- GenZ culture: memes, slang, and gamification to keep it engaging.
- Wanted to make productivity feel less boring and more like an RPG adventure.
- Idea: what if daily tasks = real quests, and your Aura is your flex score?
🎮 What it does
- Gamifies real-life goals (touch grass, study, workout, etc.).
- Create custom commissions (quests) for yourself or your squad.
- Challenge friends in a duel to farm Aura.
- Different challenge phases: creation → voting → proof submission → validation.
- Build your Aura score and show it off like your RPG level.
- Global connection: vibe with players worldwide, or just keep it personal.
- 100% flexible: you can use it for study accountability, fitness goals, or just fun dares.
- Keeps you motivated and consistent while feeling like you’re in a game.
🛠️ How we built it
- Cross-platform app using Expo for iOS + Android.
- TailwindCSS for smooth dark-themed UI with animations.
- Backend system “Supabase” to manage Aura flow, challenges, and real-time actions.
- Optimized with rate-limit handling and multiple performance techniques.
- Designed around modular flows so users can customize their experience.
- Thought deeply about scalability so Aura Online can grow with the community.
😅 Challenges we faced
- Balancing Aura points fairly (avoid “infinite farming” exploits).
- Planning editable daily quests without breaking the system.
- Designing challenge phases to be simple but fair for both sides.
- Making UI modern but still lightweight.
- Time zone issues while collaborating across regions.
- Keeping real-time features smooth without slowing the app.
- Ensuring community features don’t overwhelm solo players.
🏆 Accomplishments
- Built a full working mobile app in limited time.
- Clean, modern UI that feels fun and futuristic.
- Flexible for any lifestyle — from gamers to students to fitness grinders.
- Introduced Aura Score as a fun way to flex productivity.
- Created a real-life RPG experience — you’re basically your own anime MC.
- Proved we can merge productivity + gaming in one app.
