Level: Keeping our Businesses in Business

Level is a platform for businesses with less resources to effectively and efficiently manage their employees in the new normal established by COVID-19.

Inspiration

The current COVID-19 crisis forcing businesses to shutter their doors for an unprecedented and irreparable amount of time.

What it does

It allows businesses to reopen their doors in a calculated, safe way, and protect the health of their employees.

How we built it

Bootstrap templates were used as the basis for the web pages. We used HTML, CSS, and JavaScript to program the site and firebase to host it.

Challenges we ran into

Setting up a secure database for the sake of having patient information on it is a task that requires a significant amount of time to develop. For this reason, we did not develop the database for the demo.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

The materialization of an innovative solution to COVID-19 employee management. We're also proud of the demo we produced, and the front-end UI development we accomplished.

What we learned

We learned how to work together as a team, utilizing GitHub and Trello as platforms for collaboration. We also learned the importance of setting goals and deliverables and following through with them in a timely fashion. We also learned the importance of knowing our limits, and identifying what our group could accomplish within the time limit.

What's next for Level: Keeping our Businesses in Business

The next step is creating back-end functionality and finishing the web application. For this, we might need help from more experienced back-end web developers. After full-functionality is achieved, we will need to pitch our product to clients and launch it into the market.
