Inspiration

I built LetterClimb inspired by Passaparola, a Turkish TV quiz show. I wanted to bring its fast-paced A–Z format into a daily game experience on Reddit

What it does

LetterClimb is a daily A–Z quiz game where you climb by answering questions tied to each letter. Beyond the daily questions, users can create their own question sets, share them with communities, and compete in quizzes tailored to their interests

How we built it

I built it with Devvit Web (React/TypeScript) with help from Codex, as a playable post experience inside Reddit. I connected the client gameplay flow with server-side daily question sets and leaderboard logic.

Challenges we ran into

The hardest part was designing the question set structure and building a clean system that lets anyone create and share their own quiz sets. I also had to keep the system flexible while maintaining consistency and control

Accomplishments that we're proud of

I shipped a fully playable A–Z daily game inside Reddit with real replay value. I’m proud that daily gameplay, rankings, and user-created quizzes all live in one cohesive experience

What we learned

I learned how to build a game-like experience with React and how small UI/flow details massively affect game feel. I also learned that daily content must feel genuinely satisfying, or players won’t come back

What's next for Letter Climb

I plan to add a Duel mode: users will stake reward points, get a random letter question, and post it as a duel—another user can challenge by answering the same prompt, and the winner takes the points. I also plan to add in-game rewards/progression and more personalization for created quizzes
