Inspiration
I'd like to thank my plants for inspiring this project. I'm sorry I didn't know how to take good take of you, and may you rest in peace
What it does
Lett-Uce Garden! is a gardening app for beginner gardeners. All you have to do is take a picture of your plant, and Lett-Uce Garden! will use image recognition to tell you what kind of plant it is, and how to take care of it (how much water it needs, what kind of soil it thrives in, daily sunlight requirement, etc). The app will also provide you with notifications when you need to water your plants, move them inside, etc.
How we built it
I built this app using Canva and Thunkable
Challenges we ran into
A big challenge for me was time. It was a great struggle fitting everything I wanted to do into the duration of the hackathon.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Something I'm extremely proud of is my user-friendly, engaging user interface. The graphics are cute and appealing, the interface is easy to navigate and extremely straightforward, and I made the app purposefully like a game to encourage users to use it more and consequentially take better care of their plants
What we learned
I've learned a lot in this Hackathon! I learned the incredible capabilities of artificial intelligence, although I didn't use it myself, I learned to not be embarrassed to ask questions, and I learned that everyone offers a unique perspective that can better your app. I also learned that if you want energy drinks, you need to run like the wind.
What's next for Lett-Uce Garden!
There's many goals for Lett-Uce Garden that I wasn't able to accomplish within the duration of the hackathon. I hope to release the app onto the app store, and in the long term decrease the amount of household plants killed yearly from 17 million to 10 million. On the more technical side, I want to add a feedback button in case of any bugs and link the app the the user's google account.
