Inspiration
The idea for this project was born out of the frustration many of us experienced during our own training routines, whether it was sports practice or gym sessions. We found it hard to stay consistent, track progress meaningfully, or know whether our efforts were actually improving performance. Existing tools were either too basic or too complex, and none gave us clear, actionable feedback. We wanted to create something that not only logs and tracks your training, but actually helps you to train smarter and more effectively. This project is our way of combining technology with discipline, to make personal growth more measurable and motivating.
What it does
We created a comprehensive fitness tracking app with practice logging, progress tracking, and performance feedback features.
How we built it
We built this with code through many drafts and we also held many discussions to come out with our final idea. It can be summarized into three stages, firstly we decided on what we want our app to do, secondly, we planned the architecture for the project, thirdly, we wrote the code.
Challenges we ran into
One challenge we ran to is inconsistent data entry, for example, if one user might log "Running - 5km", another logs "Jog - 30 mins", so it’s hard to compare or give feedback.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We are proud of what we have achieved which is writing the code for the app, and resolving challenges and difficulties along the way
What we learned
We learnt problem solving skills, technical development skills, as well as debugging skills
What's next for Traininglytics
To keep improving this app.
