World of contrasts

We live in world of contrasts where in we are living in the most advance time in history, we have abundant information, abundant wealth and yet we live in a highly unequal society with full of stark contrasts. We believe there are two types of wealth: money and knowledge, providing money for all those in need is impossible but knowledge can be provided. This distribution of quality knowledge can lead to economic as well as social empowerment for the underrepresented and underprivileged sections of society.

What it does

It connects people with success-full careers to underprivileged students so they can share their knowledge and be a mentor to them and help them make decisions in life thus empowering them.

How we built it

We built the web application using Node.js and EJS engine. We have also used flask and python to implement a machine learning algorithm. Both of these things are hosted on heroku.

Challenges we ran into

The challenges were pretty good like firstly coming up with an idea and then implementing it from scratch and implementing multiple technologies and integrating them was a time consuming process.

What we learned

We learned a lot not only about tech stack but most importantly how to take an idea on paper and bring it to life using the power of technology and hard work.

What's next for LetsConnect

For now its very simple application with respect to features. More features like inbuilt chat, video conference etc can be added. The Machine Learning algorithm can be also improved using better and large datasets.
