Inspiration

From the outset, we wanted to create a game centered around investing. The idea began with the concept of a deck builder, but as we explored the judging criteria, we shifted our focus to a simulation-based approach, ultimately leading us to develop a game that captures the excitement of the stock market.

What it does

The game immerses players in a dynamic stock market environment where they can buy and sell stocks while navigating various world events. It simulates market fluctuations in response to real-world crises, allowing players to experience firsthand how such events impact investment strategies and decisions.

How we built it

We built the game using the Next.js framework, utilizing HTML, CSS, Typescript and Javascript to code the game.

Challenges we ran into

We ran into a multitude of challenges throughout this process. First, we kept getting a 404 error resulting in the server not rendering our game. Second, as the game became more sound and had a lot more calculations going on in the background performance would begin to take a hit after some time. Third, after writing in some data we realized our data formating didn't make sense so we needed to shift and adjust.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We take great pride in our engaging visuals and intuitive user interface, as well as the complex mathematics behind our accurate stock price calculations.

What's next for Lets Go Gambling

We may possibly continue to update the game with some features that were not yet implemented, etc.
